Welcome Emily. I wish you and your family all the best.
Now is the time to plan your strategy, so that you don't get "caught cold" by JW predators.
You have a P.M.
this is my first post on here so i apologize that it is like an essay!.
my husband and i are currently 'fading out' of the truth.
we stopped preaching in may 2016 and limited meeting attendance in january 2017 and stopped completely in june 2017. my main reason for this was my whole life i have been doing things to please others, even getting baptized to please my mum.

we all know that this cult will drive those trying to leave to desperate measures, and today by brother was very nearly one of those statistics.
he slashed his thigh with a kitchen knife and was bleeding out until he called the police.. i got a call on my way home from work from a police officer, coincidentally it was one of my old friends from school who's now a cop.
he told me my brother is in hospital after an attempted suicide and has lost some blood but will be ok. but i should get to the hospital as he's asking for me.
My heart goes out to you both. Tragic circumstances for both you and your brother. You will be strong enough to withstand this, as well as to help carry your brother through it as well. You'll do whatever you are able to do - because you can see what is really going on, as opposed to those who are functioning on "cult automatic pilot."
I truly hope your brother's situation improve rapidly.
far more important than worrying about whether paul's head was hairy or if he was an egg-shell blond, is to be concerned about what went on inside that skull between his ears.. paul was never a christian.
he was a jew before he became aware of jesus the anointed (christ) and he remained a jew after his confrontation.
throughout his life paul was a jew living in a gentile world.
@waton - Isn't it nice to know that Paul as a "publisher" could tell one of the alleged 1st century governing body that he was acting like a hypocrite! :) (I don't remember Paul being disfellowshipped for doing so)
(Galatians 2:11) "However, when Ceʹphas came to Antioch, I resisted him face-to-face, because he was clearly in the wrong*." [Lit. condemned]

7 during the course of jesus’ earthly ministry, his disciples also performed baptisms.
like those performed by john, these baptisms symbolized the individuals’ repentance over sins.......however, after jesus’ death and resurrection, baptism would take on a much different meaning for his followers.. (not according to acts 2:28 - “repent, and let each one of you be baptized in the name of jesus christ for forgiveness of your sins, (as well as matt.

8 In 33 C.E., the resurrected Jesus appeared to a crowd of more than 500 men, women, and possibly even children. It may have been on that occasion that he said: “Go, therefore, and make disciples..........” (Matt. 28:19, 20; 1 Cor. 15:6) Yes, it seems that hundreds of his followers were present when Jesus gave the commission to make disciples.
(11 disciples at Matthew 28 can suddenly turn into 500 in 1 Corinthians – years later?)
It's noteworthy that JW's are quick to point out to members of Christendom that the terms "immortal soul," "trinity," and "hell-fire" do not appear anywhere in the scriptures, but ignore the fact that these terms , "governing body," "organization" and "dedicated/dedication" (re-baptism ) don't exist in the Bible either.
the term jehovah’s witnesses sounded weird to me even when i was in that cult.
why does god need witnesses to prove his existence?
there is no need for anyone to create a movement called “suns witnesses” or “moons witnesses” – in order to prove its existence and glorify it, because the sun and moon are evident to every species on earth.
As this previous post shows, Christians were to witness for Christ - not for "Jehovah."
According to the Bible, Jesus was God's faithful & true witness - no one else. (Rev. 1:5; 3:14)
the fact that marc and cora have done amazing work in getting this talked about in the uk parliament soon is great news.
seeing that watchtower came out on the broadcast and made it crystal clear they will never change.
they really are going to look bad now.
I feel that the org's televised statement which defiantly states they will not abolish the two-witness rule will have been passed on to the UK Charity Commission to consider. If the CC considers that such a stance does not meet with the criteria and expected standards for a charity, we could see the org being given an ultimatum - either drop your two-witness rule for paedophile accusations, or lose your charitable status. Guess what option they'll choose? Chilean flags in Kingdom Halls or monetary fines spring to mind!
this has always baffled me.
that is why was satan and his demons allowed to be in heaven for so long after they split from god?.
if we did that then we are out of the congregation, members are shunned and also kicked out of families homes.
Satan was the original apostate - and yet Jehovah & Jesus both continued to talk to him!
Ask the trolley-brigade why J.W.'s ignore this Bible principle and refuse to discuss scriptures with ex-JW's.
first post here and looking for advice and help.
sorry in advance for it being so long :(.
i'm a happily married woman (no kids) who is a non-jw, presbyterian to be precise.
Welcome spacegirl443. So sorry to hear of your plight. (I'm a faded J.W. by the way)
Without getting into all the scriptural rights & wrongs of Christmas, you and your husband need to have a very straightforward conversation about both of your equal rights in the marital home when it comes to beliefs/religion. Explain to him that you are willing to remove from the home everything connected with your form of Christianity, except your Bible, insisting that he does the same - no J.W. literature whatsoever allowed in the home, then wait for his "loving" response. This should tell you all you need to know about having children with a JW.
Husbandly subjection is a big deal in La-La J.W.-land, so be prepared to defend your individual rights.
I hope you can find a mutually agreeable solution.

Granting her freedom of worship may even mean letting her have a Christmas tree in one room of the house during that season, although the believing husband would not let other rooms of the house or its outside be decorated.

problem solved.

Expect to hear that r & f JW's begin to experience a serious public backlash for the perversions of their leadership.
